2008 Changes to Florida Condominium Act
The 2008 Florida Legislative session brought many changes to the Florida Condominium Act.  One change is that the Association shall require each owner to provide evidence of hazard and liability insurance (commonly called H06 or contents insurance).  The new provision requires that the association be added as an additional named insured and a loss payee on all policies issued to unit owners.  Furthermore, the policies must provide for no less than $2000 of special assessment coverage. 2008 Citizen's Mitigation Form
If you have Citizen's Insurance, download this form and submit it to Citizen's and your insurance agent for a possible credit/refund on your insurance.  Print the form and put your policy number in the policy number box on the upper right corner of the first page.  We were required to submit this form for our association insurance.  The report may reduce the rates on your unit.
