Hurricane Charley Roof Construction Project
October 19, 2005 Update
It has been a while between reports and we
are now preparing for Hurricane Wilma. It turned cloudy this afternoon with
scattered rain, thunder and high humidity after some nice pleasant days with
no humidity. At least we don't have any sliding doors out (except of course
the 2 penthouses).
RLJ has primed and painted the chimney box above PH-2 so West Coast can
finish their install of the roof panels in that area. John Z. and I sounded
the lanais of the 31 riser and found some serious damage at 631 down to 131
with the worst at 231. The lanais above the sixth floor had very little
damage - very similar to the 37 riser. The 32 and 33 risers are being coated
and theoretically be completed by the end of next week or the following
Monday. All schedules depend on what Wilma will do this weekend.
Mabry has completed the installation of the north pod of condensers and is
working on both the south pod and the 34 pod. All units installed have been
anchored securely to the rails. Once the units are installed and all piping
hooked up, they will commence the charge-up of each unit.
Thursday morning I will be walking each unit with Tom B. to make sure all
doors and windows are secure and any patio furniture is placed inside each
unit. Creative Tile cancelled the meeting for tomorrow to prepare for the
storm. I don't blame them. We will know more tomorrow and will keep you
posted as to when the projects will be shut down.
