Hurricane Charley Roof Construction Project
July 6, 2005 Update
Let me start by saying we may have a
hurricane in the Gulf this weekend. Like everything else down here, there
may be too much hype prior to the actual event. West Coast had coil
delivered today for roof panels, however they will not be forming them this
week and definitely not installing panels. Over fifty percent of the sloped
roof has been replaced and dried in. There is a pallet of soffit panels at
the project site ready for install
RLJ is grinding on the second floor and excavating marked areas on the 36
and 34 risers. To date there are six sliders that have been removed with
temp walls constructed: 636 bedroom, 836 slab edge, 936 living room, 1136
bedroom, 435 living room and 1035 bedroom. RLJ cracked the glass at 835
bedroom and there is a sheet of plywood screwed to the opening. The sliders
have not been removed from the 35 riser. Most of the damage we have
encountered are surface spalls with reinforcement burning the surface.
This afternoon we took delivery of the cementitious waterproofing material
and another two to three pallets of repair material. All the tile material
for the walkways has been delivered and stored under the building. The fence
is up and it's presence is helping to discourage the hotel guests. If we
could only keep out the hotel remodeling crews.
