Hurricane Charley Roof Construction Project

June 21, 2005 Update

First off I had the opportunity to meet with Dan from Security. I believe he saw the light over this past weekend with hotel guests walking through the construction site without a care on their minds NOT! RLJ will have someone at property tomorrow to measure the site for six foot high fencing all around the site with a locking gate at the entrance. Tom Boehm and John Zelnick will have keys to unlock and lock. It has been tough trying to keep people and vehicles out of the construction zone and this should alleviate it.

Today, the roofers had two teams working, one on the north side of Penthouse 2 and one group on the roof of the elevator tower. I was told today the coil stock for the roof panels and soffit were due to arrive this week and the metal work would commence soon after.

RLJ has removed the tile from the 34, 35 and 36 risers except 836 which will take place sometime this week following removal of furnishings and sliding doors.

RLJ is perimeter grinding on the 10th and 11th floors and the last of the tile on the second floor is coming off.

I called Creative Tile this afternoon to have them give us a price for 0" high bull nose base to be installed at all elevator lobbies. The 12th floor had wood base at the elevator, however it was starting to deteriorate from excessive moisture and when pulled from the walls, left large paddies of adhesive on the stucco. I felt it would be neater to cover over with a tile piece rather than try to remove the paddies and possibly damage the stucco.

Thursday morning I will be sounding lanais with John Z. We are still waiting for another mast climber for the 37 riser.

Joe
